Just wanted to post a quick update – this week is insane (as mentioned). I’ve got meetings every single day and I’m working every day. Tomorrow I’ve got to go over some things with the artist I’m styling for her CD-cover shoot on Sunday. I’m working on Thursday and then I have a meeting with a press office in the evening. On Friday I have crammed in three meetings with press offices in the morning before work. And that’s really only half of all the things I have to do. Hah, crazy.
I had a blast at work today with my co-worker Linda, she cracks me up! We always have a good time together. We’ve been working side-by-side for almost three months now and we’re not sick of eachother yet, and I don’t think we ever will be! We talk about everything and share a lot of laughs. She and I are so alike too, we have the same way of working so we often finish what the other person started. Gossiping and talking about guys is also a favorite of mine because Linda usually has some great input on my little love problems! Haha…
Anyway, I’m off to enjoy my evening… I’ll write again soon!
P.S How do you like the colorful cats (above)? I love Tim Walker, he’s an amazing photographer!

I have been crazy busy this weekend and it doesn’t stop there. I am literally one foot out the door while writing this. I have to run and meet up with the artist I’ll be styling for her CD cover shoot next week (so excited!), we’re going to go over some ideas and see which direction she wants to go with the styling.
After my meeting I have to run some errands before hurrying home to do some writing work and then I’m out the door again to go to dinner this evening. Tomorrow morning is work as usual, early, and then I have to run to some press offices to borrow clothes. I’m going to be going 24/7 next week. My calendar is so cluttered with meetings, appointments and “To do’s” that I can’t fit anything more in!
Will try to write again soon!
xx beautiful people!

A new book has hit the bookshelves and I’m in the middle of reading it. Elsas Mode is a new novel by fashion journalist Sofi Fahrman. Fahrman is Sweden’s most famous fashion journalist, she began her career at Elle and has climbed her way up to the top with her own magazine and fashion blog as well as webb-TV show.
I just recently started reading the book so I haven’t got far yet, but the book has recieved a lot of good reviews. This is part one in a series of three books about Elsa and her fashionable life. It’s like a blog in a book.

THE A/W 2009 ISSUE OF ACNE PAPER includes a magnificent photo shoot by Paolo Roversi. I found it particularly interesting as I could clearly see the inspiration for the photo shown at the top here, the “lace face”. Although that particular photo (or variations of it) have been done for years now, the original (and quite possibly the most stunning of them all) is the portrait of Gloria Swanson, shot by Edward Steichen in 1924, seen below.

As mentioned, several variations of this particular photo have been done, and have inspired many designers as well. More examples of this below.

I have so much to do this weekend. But first things first. I have to decide what I’m doing tonight! Drinks with a friend of mine are sort of/half on the agenda right now. It’s hanging in the air right now and depends on my friend. He’s sitting having dinner with another friend right now and is going to text when he’s done with that, but it might not be done until late this evening so it could be a yes or a no as far as having drinks this evening goes.
The second option is lighting candles, taking a long bath and reading a book. Does sound awefully tempting this chilly friday evening after a long day of work (and before a hectic weekend full of more work and play). Hmm… decisions, decisions…

It’s a busy week! There’s work and I just got news from my boss that we’re doing a photo shoot together for a new artist. It’s going to be awesome! I can’t wait to get to work with my boss who is a fantastic fashion photographer (aside from being my boss and friend). I’ve got a lot of planning to do before the shoot because it’s already next week. I’ll probably be meeting with the artist some time this or next week to hear her thoughts on what she wants to do.
This weekend we’re doing Thanksgiving dinner here, I know it’s a bit early but when you’re inviting about ten people you have to try to synchronize everyone’s schedules and shoot for the best day, even if it’s not on actual Thanksgiving. My mom even invited S to come for Thanksgiving. He did love my mom’s cooking so we’ll see if it’s enough to have him fly over here for another piece of her pie!
I’ll write more asap, gotta head off to work now!

STARBUCKS OPENS IN SWEDEN. One of the most buzzed about pieces of news this past week is that Starbucks is (finally) coming to Sweden. For years fashionistas have been craving the world famous coffee chain that gained popularity after celebrity style icons like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan were seen with the trademark Starbucks takeaway-cups seemingly glued to their fists. It’s even been seen on the runway as Dsquared accessorized their models with Starbucks cups for their A/W 2009 show.
And while things aren’t going too well for Starbucks on the other side of the pond (around 1000 Starbucks have shut down in the US because the chains popularity has dwindled) the coffee chain has chosen to expand to new countries and open at Arlanda airport right outside Stockholm in the beginning of next year.
While I’ve had the opportunity to get Starbucks during my visits to the US (and while living in Prague) I often opt for other coffee chains because I think Starbucks is way overpriced. And I always remember my uncle joking about Starbucks being like rocket fuel, apparently it’s an excellent laxative. No doubt the secret behind how Hollywood stars stay skinny.
What’s your take – Starbucks, yay or nay?

… checked out Rodebjer Candy Store which wasn’t as aweome as I’d hoped. The prices were okay (between 180 SEK to 1 800 SEK about) but the clothes weren’t all that exciting. I saw a purse I liked but it felt way overpriced, needless to say I left empty handed. Following my visit to Rodebjer I went for a walk through town, peeked in some shops and then stopped by Chokladfabriken to buy a latte. On my way home I stopped by the craft store to pick up some stuff (I’m like a kid in a candystore at craft shops) and the afternoon has been spent feeding my creative vein working on a little project of mine.
What have you done today?

Big fashion don’t! Here’s the new number one on fashion’s “out”-list. Like, wow. There can’t be many things in way of fashion that are more unattractive than this. Just. Don’t. Do. It.
