Photos of Rachel Zoe by Andrew Durham for the New York Times

I have a love-hate relationship to Hollywood-stylist Rachel Zoe. I don’t deny that she has transformed trashy-, mismatched- and tacky-clad starlets into fabulous “it”-girls and this I thank her for. After all, what would Nicole Richie be wearing today had Zoe not taught her that a ripped up top and miniskirt aren’t the way to go?

However, all things fabulous are not preached by miss Zoe. Along with her style tips came the implementation of an unhealthy standard size in women which I do not, at all, agree with. There is nothing fabulous or attractive in looking starved and bone-y.

Seems as though famed Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, has had just about enough of the stylist as well. As we all know, Anna Wintour has the power of the fashion community bestowed upon her. In other words, mess with Wintour and you might as well consider yourself doomed. Somewhere along the line, say for instance in New York Times magazine last September, Zoe slipped a comment about Wintour that may or may not be the reason why she has now ben un-invited to the MET Costume Institute Gala (i.e. The Oscars of Fashion).

Here’s what Zoe had to say to New York Times:

“Anna Wintour is one of my heroes, but they say that I’m more influential. As great as it is, Vogue won’t change a designer’s business. But if an unknown brand is worn by a certain person in a tabloid, it will be the biggest designer within a week. When I worked with Nicole [Richie], there were things that she wore that designers had to remake for another season because there was such demand.’’

You snooze you lose…
