A favorite inspiration.

In March 2008 I was in the US and during my trip I picked up the book Eat, Pray, Love by Elisabeth Gilbert. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading. It’s proved to be extremely interesting and inspiring to me and I have kept telling myself I have to read it again. It’s been over a year now since I last read it so I feel it is about time I dust it off and give it a second read.

If you haven’t read it, do!

There’s always something missing

Ali Stephens on the cover of RUSSH, September 2009

With all the magazines available here in Sweden you’d think we didn’t need anymore. There’s magazines about absolutely everything. From fishing to doll collecting. But we don’t have RUSSH. And that kind of sucks.

The big interview

As if I don’t talk about magazines enough already…

My list of ”favorite” magazines is ever growing. There’s so much inspiration to be had, both in text and photographs. And there’s so many magazines out there, concerning any imaginable subject, that there’s always going to be one you’ve never seen or read before.

I recently picked up a copy of the magazine Interview, I’ve known about the magazine for ages and seen it many times but rarely given it any attention, until now. It’s a brilliant magazine. I love their concept – allowing famous movie stars, models and artists to interview a fellow celebrity. For example, in the September 2009 issue January Jones (Mad Men) is interviewed by Jack Nicholson, no less!

Their latest issue features Natalie Portman, interviewed by Jake Gyllenhaal. I have yet to read the issue, but I already love the cover!

Lula is here!

Lula is finally here! I was thrilled to get my copy today. Thanks to my job I’ve got a copy secured, always! :)

Sadly things don’t seem too good in Lula-land as they notified us they’ve cut the amount of copies they’re printing in order to try to lower costs. Boo! It’s such a popular magazine, I don’t understand how things can’t be going great for them.

Anyway, this is my entertainment for this evening, I’ve been so busy with work and stuff all day that I haven’t so much as flipped through the magazine yet. Exciting!

Bubbly

Vogue Australia July 2009

I grabbed some magazines at work yesterday and quickly flipped through them last night before hitting the sack. I love this photo shoot in the July issue of Vogue Australia. It’s so pretty! Also, of course I chose the blue cover of POP! It’s so hawt!

Gotta get a move on, enough loitering and surfing online. It’s gorgeous weather outside and I’m headed in to town!

Talk to you later! Ciao!

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

There’s a lot of movies I want to see right now:

The September issue: The much buzzed about (in the fashion industry) movie that follows Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour during the production of the september issue of Vogue.

The Time Traveler’s Wife: Based on the book with the same title. I recently read this book and really liked it, and it is starring one of my favorite actresses, Rachel McAdams.

My Sister’s Keeper: Also based on the book with the same title. I loved the book, such a tearjerker. I have to see the movie.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus: This looks amazing! Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Lily Cole – need I say more? I must see this! It’s Health Ledger’s last work and Johnny Depp looks like yum-I-want-to-eat-you-up. (See trailer above)

Which of these movies do you want to see?

One fifth avenue

I’ve had a busy day! I have been really busy all day, running around town and fixing all kinds of things. I registered for my French class this morning and then ran some errands in town. Most of the day was actually spent being really crafty. I’ll show you some of the stuff I worked on tomorrow morning. Now I’m about to hit the sack and read one of the new books I picked up at the library today. Which one should I read first?

P.S My interview this evening went well. I’ve never laughed so much during an interview. Haha!

Suffocating boredom

Is it possible to suffocate from boredom? In that case I should probably call for help.

I went to the library today and read some of the latest international magazines – Time, Newsweek and the lot to keep up on what’s happening in the world. I attempted to soak in the sun again this morning but grew bored within about 30 seconds and called it quits.

It’s crazy how some weeks are so busy I can hardly remember my name while others are so boring I find myself admiring dots on the wall.

Pages and pages of words

After breakfast, the mail came…

I got the schedule for the second part of Stockholm Fashion Week (SS 2010 shows)

I’ve already sent my RSVP to one of the events.

I got dressed and put my hair up in a ponytail, I’m having a bad hair day.

I went to the library to find a new book to read, but also found Johnny Depp (in the latest issue of DV Man)

And my favorite Nylon magazine

As always I was loving the graphics in Nylon.

I spent a couple of hours reading magazines and books at the library. The local library is really good, they’ve got comfy chairs, free wireless internet and a nice selection of books and magazines. I read DV Man, British Vogue and Nylon. And I also flipped through some French books and borrowed one to start practicing my French.

What have you done today?
