My style is ever changing, ever evolving, ever undecided.
I don’t necessarily follow trends. I find that rather boring and unimaginative. If I like a trend then I’ll hop on the bandwagon, if not, then I won’t. Simple as that. A lot of the time, I find that a trend becomes completely uninteresting to me because it is just that - a trend, and for that reason everyone is wearing it.
My style is very dependent on what my life, and mood, is currently like. That’s what is so great about fashion, that it can express both who we are and how we feel. So what is my style like right at the moment? Dark and edgy. My wardrobe contains a lot of black and grey. My accessories are studded, my rings look like weapons. My heels are heavy, black and chunky. My nails are painted dark and my eyes are smokey.
No, I’m not going through some sort of depression. If I’m to analyze myself for a moment, I think this is some sort of expression of something that hit me a couple of weeks ago. The thought that I am worth it. I’m done with people putting me down. Done with people using me. And I’m done with always thinking that I’m to blame, or that I have done something wrong.
I am who I am, and I am worth it. And you are too!
How about some Friday night entertainment? Bring on the glitz, the glamour… and the anxiety.

The Blonds F/W 2012
My friend Malin (aka my music guru) just mentioned one of the latest (and kind of unexpected) music collaborations – will.i.am featuring Britney Spears. I checked out the video and, you know me, the second I saw studs and glitter I was more focused on the outfits in the video than the actual song.
Throughout the video Britney is doing a stiff twirl in various black numbers, but one outfit stands out. The above dress is from The Blonds F/W 2012 collection and anyone that knows me will know I wouldn’t hesitate a second if I got a chance to wear it. Crazy, over the top, spikes, and glitter is kind of my thing. Why go for the classic and safe LBD when you can wear this? (Minus the helmet of course)

will.i.am – Scream & Shout ft. Britney Spears
Tonight’s the night. The annual anxiety provoking fashion show also known as The Victoria’s Secret fashion show airs on CBS at 10pm ET/PT.
This year’s musical acts are Rihanna, Bruno Mars, and Justin Bieber. Alessandra Ambrosio was granted the pricey task of strutting down the runway with the $2,5 million 20-carat diamond bra strapped across her chest. And of course all the other familiar VS angels are in the show this year too, including Adriana Lima (who by the way is the only angel that looks even remotely healthy compared to her skeletal model friends), Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Candice Swanepoel, Behati Prinsloo, Erin Heatherton, Lily Aldridge, and Lindsay Ellingson.

I need to stop trying on shoes at work, because I keep falling in love with them. Last week I slipped into a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti suede platform pumps that made me look at my legs in a way I never have before – with admiration. Yesterday I tried on a pair of the Valencia ankle boots by Stella McCartney, and was surprised at how much I liked them. They looked so different on, as opposed to how they looked in the box.
Let me tell you about my little sister. Lisa is a saucy little blond number with a smile to die for and a level of confidence I could only dream of. Since she was a little kid she’s been sewing, it’s kind of been one of those things you always associate with her.
Once when she was about 12 or 13 years old she sewed three (or was it four?) stuffed animals that a friend of our moms had ordered. It took her hours of work, and the final product was excellent and without the slightest bit of flaw – they would have given the Karl Lagerfeld bear a run for its money. When she graduated from high school she designed and sewed her own graduation dress, another piece of art which received great acclaim (as well as jealous looks).
The past couple of years she’s been studying fashion design in various form. She’s done courses in fashion design drawing, pattern making, had numerous internships with designers both here in Sweden and in London, and this past year she’s attended a one year fashion design education. Yesterday was her final presentation of some of the work she’s done during the year.
I made sure to plant myself front and center at the end of the catwalk where Lisa would be pausing to do her little pose before returning backstage. Camera at the ready, a slight nervous flutter in my stomach, I awaited the start of the show. At T+3 minutes, the show began, and opening the show was my sister. Hair swept to one side, a big black hat covering half her face, and red lips demanding their attention as she confidently advanced down the runway, pride would be an understatement of what I felt in that moment.
The peplum seems such a fitting trend for spring and summer, with the wavy details undeniably reminiscent of a flower. Seen on the spring and summer runways of Marc by Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang and Jason Wu (among others). The trend has completely exploded and is absolutely everywhere in stores. A simple search of peplum on ASOS.com currently brings up 198 items, so if you’re out to get your hands on the trend you shouldn’t have a hard time finding it.
