I finished my first semester in school last week. We’re right on to the second semester, which is notorious for being the hardest semester we’ll face during the 3 year program. My teachers have warned us all that this semester its going to be HARD.

After visiting the gym this morning for a workout that killed, I grabbed my book and got to work. A change of environment is said to be good, so today my study space has been a café in town.

Truth be told, I’m worried about how (or if) I’m going to manage this semester. Its like jumping into third level Chinese. Yikes.

Today was going to be a rest day from working out. Resting days are every bit as important as workout days, but they’re soooo boring! I’ve been going out of my mind bored all day and debated going to the gym about twenty times. I resisted, but can’t wait to go tomorrow morning!

I did however do a little “at home workout” this evening. My at home workouts usually consist of a fun interval circuit, which is exactly what I did this evening. 12 rounds of 50 seconds of max effort followed by 10 seconds of rest. Times two. And then I rocked out to this song. All in all a 30 minute workout. And now I feel that amazing buzz. Love it!

One of my wishes for 2012 is to travel to Spain (or Ireland) and visit S. Because he happens to live in Spain at the moment, that’s where I’m going in less than two weeks.

It was kind of a spontaneous decision to go (aren’t they the best kind of decisions?). I’m going to miss school and probably have a nightmarish load of schoolwork to catch up on. But going to visit S, and dance barefoot on a beach in Spain kind of makes those concerns dwindle in comparison.

I’m an endorphin junkie.

Up until a little over a year ago, my exercise mostly consisted of power walks, runs, and a couple of months here and there at the gym. I also knocked an item off my bucket list when I went to surf camp in 2009.

The past year and a half or so, I’ve developed a complete and utter love and passion for working out. It’s one of my absolute favorite things to do and since getting my gym membership in November 2010 I’ve been going to the gym or exercising consistently 3-5 times a week. Working out/exercise has become a hobby of mine. The gym is like my refuge, a place where I can clear my mind, run off the stress of schoolwork or things weighing me down (no pun intended).

This isn’t a new years resolution, it’s a lifestyle. Fitting a workout into my schedule is as natural and important to me as going to school. And I don’t just go and walk on the treadmill for fifteen minutes, I really work out. I run, I lift weights, I sweat, and I love every second of it.

Strong is the new skinny, girls. Forget the lifeless, unhealthy lifestyle and look of a wafer thin runway model, there’s no magic in that. Working out, healthy and clean food, and strength will not only give you energy, it’ll make you feel like superwoman too.

As funny as this video is, it’s also completely true and worth reminding yourself of when you wanna die ’cause you don’t look like Adriana Lima.

I’ve been in need of a new pair of workout pants for the past couple of months. I’ve been using my beloved Nike pants so much, the poor things have been through the washing machine more times than I can count (but they’re still in great condition!)

I got an awesome pair of black and orange Craft running pants on sale a couple of weeks ago and yesterday I got another pair at H&M. I’ve never used workout clothes from H&M before so we’ll see how they hold up. I’m also tempted to check out Gina Tricot’s new collection of workout gear. Their quality is far from great so I probably wouldn’t get running pants from them, but som baggy tank tops to sweat in could be something.

Decisions, decisions… am I feeling yellow, purple or pink today?
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe… today my nails are the color of OPI’s “Lunch at the Delhi“.

The holidays are over, it’s back to reality. Started with group work on Tuesday and yesterday, have to do work from home today, next week classes start up again. And in two weeks I’m done with my first semester.

But before anything else, I’m on my way to meet Malin for coffee. I’ll come home and do serious school work once I’m fueled up on some caffeine.

• Travel to Spain (or Ireland) and visit S.
• Travel more in general, I would like to go to so many places!
• Go and visit my childhood hometown, and my old friends (haven’t been back in about 10 years!)
• Find an apartment, hopefully longterm.
• Continue to exercise regularly, and hopefully find more time between my school schedule to exercise.
• More parties, going out and having fun. More spontaneity.
• Plan something fun each week: meet a friend for coffee, brunch, movies, going to a museum, going out etc. Something to make the weekdays of hard schoolwork bearable.
• Have a fantastic birthday party (to make up for that I didn’t celebrate my birthday this year due to a nasty flu).
• Do something fun on New Years Eve (2012-2013), plan ahead!

…I’ll probably keep adding to this as I think of more things.
