Me, an everyday hero? On SVT Go’kväll.

Remember I said I was going to buy flowers for myself for Valentine’s day? Well, I didn’t have to because I got a big bouquet of tulips today – although for a very different reason!

This morning I headed to the hospital to bake. I usually go every Saturday but today was a special occasion. The TV-channel SVT came to film me while baking, and to do a short interview with me for their show Go’kväll (an evening talk show-type of thing) and a segment on the show called “Vardagshjältar” (directly translated: “Everyday heroes”).

My mom had nominated me for my volunteer baking at the hospital and when SVT heard about my baking they wanted to come and meet me! It was a fun day and the reporter and film guy were both very nice and friendly. They gave me a fantastic bouquet of Spring tulips that I am now enjoying the view of from my couch.

I baked chocolate cupcakes and when we were done filming and the reporter and film guy had left, I stayed and cut up a huge fruit salad so that the patients could have a chocolate cupcake with a dollop of cream and  a spoonful of fruit salad.

I don’t know when the segment will air, but Inger (the friendly reporter) was going to let me know as soon as possible. I’ll keep you posted! Thank you SVT for choosing me as one of your “Everyday heroes”!
